TBTAM, it's not bad. The swelling will go down and the scar will fade. As soon as allowed, begin sunscreen again. You really want to use it daily while the scar is red/pink. Take care.

You look so sad! Your not over reacting it's your nose!

Aren't we women funny creatures? When we look in the mirror we don't see ourselves, we see PARTS. And if one of those parts has a defect, even a small one, we just can't tear our eyes from it. Other people don't see us this way at all.

I would never discount how you feel, but honestly, it's not that bad. And it's kind of a cool shape. Now let's amuse ourselves by making up stories you could tell to explain the bandage on your nose. How about a contest for the best one?!

The contours are really nice and will blend in well with your nostril. I think the surgeon did a great job, actually. I think you'll be surprised at how difficult it will be to see the scar in a few months. I was bitten in the face by a dog (as a kid) and unfortunately there was no plastic surgeon to suture the wounds. But it hasn't bothered me - just gives me character. :) Hang in there.

It would be cool to see the pictures as a series if you wouldn't mind keeping up the older ones.

I look at that, and I really don't get where the flap came from. It doesn't look like there's a big hole missing anywhere.

Good luck on the healing :)

OK, the nose is alarming now, but your beautiful eyes were the first thing I noticed. Swear to God. I wish to support all of the other commenters - in a year you will not even see the scar. If you'd let the cancer grow, it would have scary looking in a year, right?

I agree about the eyes. You do have nice eyes. The nose will heal. :)

Pretty eyes and cute nose! I am not a physician but I would be encouraged by what they are all saying. :)

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding.

I bet no one has told you about emu oil.

I have terrible, terrible cystic acne and have had no new scars since I started using it in January.

I shared it with a friend who has applied it to surgical scars from TKR, as well as chronic bruising/congestion on her legs. After 2 weeks, the scars were reduced by more than half and there was little-to-no evidence of the bruises.

It's not incredibly glamorous stuff, but good goddamn, it works.

If you're interested, make sure you order it from a reputable buyer. I've heard that some versions... um, well... some kinds smell like chicken. (Ugh! I know. BLECH.) I order mine from High Cascade. No discernible odor. None. ZERO.

Good luck!!!
